Mimail.S displays a fake Microsoft licensing window to try and dupe users into entering their credit card information. The stolen information is then e-mailed to addresses found within the worm’s code. Like previous Mimail variants, it spreads itself via e-mail. Read the rest of this entry »

The Customer Respect Group, a research and consulting firm based in Bellevubility, respect for customers’ privacy and responsiveness to questions sent via e-mail. While banks generally scored high for usability, they did very poorly in the area of responsiveness.

A new variant of the Mydoom/Novarg worm, called Mydoom-B, is now spreading itself rapidly across the Internet. It is very similar to the original Mydoom, but has a larger file size and a different target . Microsoft.s web site. It also fixes several other minor errors and flaws. The patch is recommended for all Word 2003 users.

Approximately 91 percent of computers with high-speed Internet access are infected with spyware, according to a 2003 National Cyber Security Alliance survey.
